Shatti Al Qurum is Muscat's long, palm-lined city beach: wide soft sand, gentle shallow water that suits paddling toddlers, and a promenade of cafés and juice bars behind it.
Mornings bring joggers and calm sea; late afternoon brings football games, kite flyers and the best sunsets in town. Lifeguard cover is limited, so keep swimmers close — but the gradient is famously gentle.
Park anywhere along Shatti Street, grab a karak or an ice cream, and let the kids dig until dark. It costs nothing and never gets old.

Buckets and spades, sunscreen, water, and towels. The sand gets hot by mid-morning in summer — sandals essential.
