What you'll do

Al Amerat Public Park sits in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, a short drive over the mountain pass southeast of central Muscat, and is the area's main family green space: wide lawns, walking paths, a running track and a proper playground with slides, swings and climbing equipment.
The park has also hosted Muscat Festival events and cultural programming, with a heritage village and amphitheatre used for seasonal festivals β€” outside of festival dates it's a quiet, spacious neighbourhood park that's rarely crowded compared with the big Muscat parks.
There are no permanent restaurants inside, so families bring their own snacks and picnics; shaded rest areas and benches are dotted around the lawns.

πŸŽ’ Bring & wear

Your own snacks and water (no permanent food stalls inside), a picnic mat for the lawns, sun protection for midday visits.

πŸ’‘ Family tips

  • Bring your own food β€” there are no permanent restaurants inside, only seasonal stalls during events
  • Check for Muscat Festival or cultural event dates if you want the amphitheatre and heritage village in use
  • Much quieter than the big Muscat-proper parks, good for a low-key picnic
  • Go early morning or evening in summer β€” shade is limited over the open lawns
