What you'll do

Ghubrah Beach Park runs along the Al Ghubra coastline, between Azaiba and the Al Khuwair area β€” a simple, spacious mix of lawns and a plain but breezy stretch of beach, with good walking and jogging tracks and plenty of free parking.
It's not the prettiest beach in Muscat (no coves or dramatic scenery), but that's part of the appeal: it's rarely crowded, has genuinely wide open lawns for children to run around on, and a small children's play area right by the sand.
Sunset is the best time to visit, when the benches along the grass fill up with families watching the light over the water.

πŸŽ’ Bring & wear

A picnic blanket for the lawns, water shoes if paddling, sun protection for daytime visits.

πŸ’‘ Family tips

  • Go for sunset β€” the lawns and benches by the water are the best part
  • Supervise children closely near the shoreline; it's an open beach with no lifeguard
  • Much quieter than Qurum or Azaiba beach parks, good if you want space
  • October–April is the most comfortable season to visit

🚻 Facilities

  • Free on-site parking
  • Walking and jogging tracks
  • Children's playground
  • Volleyball and football areas
  • Shaded picnic lawns
