Bait Al Zubair Museum
A family treasure-house of khanjars, costumes and old Muscat life β under a rial each.
What you'll do
Bait Al Zubair is a private family museum in Old Muscat spread over five historic buildings and a garden: Omani daggers (khanjars), jewellery, costumes, old photographs of Muscat, and a walk-through model Omani village outside.
It's compact and easygoing β an hour covers it β and the garden with its traditional boats and barasti hut gives kids space to wander between galleries. There's a nice cafΓ© and gift shop too.
At around a rial for adults and free for under-10s, it's the easiest culture stop in town, two minutes from the National Museum.
