The Jabal Akhdar Hotel is the plateau's original three-star — 26 simple rooms, a garden and a domed restaurant on the main road at Saiq, ten minutes from Diana's Point.
It costs a third of the plateau's famous resorts, and for a family that plans to be out walking villages, picking a rose-terrace path or watching the canyon all day, it's exactly enough: warm beds, big breakfasts, cool mountain air.
Remember the rule for everyone on this mountain: the police checkpoint requires a 4WD to make the climb.

Real jumpers — plateau nights are cold even in summer. A 4WD vehicle is mandatory at the checkpoint.
